Reunion
From all reports throughout the FART
world, the recently concluded 2010 REUNION held on March 6TH
was a very huge success. It all started on the evening of
March 5TH at the HOMEWOOD SUITES where the BYOB
PARTY was held. A record 123 people attended that portion of
the REUNION, and we had 200 at the REUNION itself on
Saturday, March 6TH, which was yet another
attendance record, but also NOTE that
there will be a big change for 2011. We must cap the reunion
at 200 and the Friday night BYOB at 115 due to fire laws and
crowd control.
Retired NYSP Superintendent TOM
CONSTANTINE addressed the attendees, as did NYSP PBA
President TOM MUNGEER.
The variety and super quality of food
offered at the REUNION was the subject of conversation until
the raffle portion of the REUNION commenced. All in all FART
raffled off about $2,800 in gifts to the gathered throng and
that included a raffle for LADIES ONLY, that was very well
received by the ladies in attendance.
The 50/50 segment featured a giveaway of
$550.00 to one very happy attendee. TIM RUDD accepted his
winnings with a huge smile, but before he could put his new
found treasure into his wallet, his wife SUE interceded and
took total control of the situation. Condition normal.
At the conclusion of the REUNION proper,
the large crowd headed back to the hotel where the leftover
food from both the BYOB and the REUNION was set out for
anyone brave enough to eat yet again. Yes, there were many
brave souls who partook.
And so another year has come and gone for
the FART REUNION staff. There were many first time attendees
who advised they cannot wait for the next year’s bash to
take place. All in all, it was a very good year for the FART
ORGANIZATION. We accepted 19 new members which was still
another record. We gave away a record number of gifts and
prizes not counting the 50/50 monies.
Perhaps this important information should
have gone into the first part of this update that being
there will be NO CHANGE in prices for next year. Yes,
you are reading correctly. For the 5th successive
year there will be NO RAISE in any of the prices for
any of the events or yearly dues. We at FART think this
might be our greatest success taking everything into
consideration especially the economy.
Along with our great success we have had
in attendance we find we may need to start limiting the
number of participants as we are about maxed out at the
facilities we currently use. Fire laws dictate just how many
people can be put into a room. We will tackle that problem
at our next FART DIRECTORS meeting. Stay tuned.
